7Hills has helped underwrite a benchmark report by The Aberdeen Group entitled "Supply Chain on Demand: Enable Flexible Business Processes" that clearly establishes the advantages enjoyed by users of on-demand applications in comparison to users of conventional on-premise systems for supply chain process management

The Aberdeen report analyzed data on business process capabilities from over 250 companies to identify key competency indicators, including the abilities to expedite new trading partnerships; support unique business processes for selective product categories, customers or channels; support electronic collaboration with global trading partners; enhance business-to-business connectivity, supply chain execution and planning; and achieve greater proficiency in transportation management and supply chain collaboration. New ARC Report Names 7Hills as Leading Model for Offshore Development

7Hills has been singled out by a leading industry analyst for its trailblazing and efficacious utilization of offshore resources.

An ARC Advisory Group Study cites 7Hills as the premier Warehouse Management System company employing the offshore development model, or Global Service Delivery model. According to Steve Banker, Ph.D., Service Director for Supply Chain Management at ARC, 7Hills is the industry leader in reducing costs and raising profit margins by designing a business model that strategically utilizes off-shore facilities in other countries, specifically India.

"7Hills is leveraging the offshore development model better than any other company that I have come across," Banker is quoted as saying in the May 2007 study, entitled Warehouse Management Systems Worldwide Outlook. "7Hills is also doing offshore software development and taking this model further than others. The power of this model is demonstrated by the extraordinarily fast growth of Indian IT firms that rely on it."

Banker was impressed with the company's progressive use of offshore development and described 7Hills as an "intriguing" company that caught his attention as he completed research for the Worldwide Outlook report.

DC Velocity Magazine Shines a Spotlight on 7Hills

7Hills is one of just a few pioneering supply chain software providers spotlighted in the October 2007 issue of DC Velocity magazine.

In an article titled "Trickle Down Technology," author Lisa Terry how 7Hills is offering on-demand, software-as-a-service warehouse management products to small and midsized businesses (SMBs), and in doing so transforming the warehouse management systems industry. By offering web-based software to SMBs, 7Hills is giving them the opportunity to leapfrog into the digital age - a shift that has previously been impossible due to the prohibitive costs of software and hardware.

According to Terry, the eBizNET software suite developed by 7Hills enables SMB's to reap the transformative benefits of a SaaS solution without the expenditure and complexity of creating an on-premise system. On-demand, web-based applications provide SMBs with a chance to adopt the latest technology plus gain the substantial advantages of lower costs, reduced risk and rapid implementation. Industry experts, including Steve Banker, director of supply chain management for ARC Advisory Group, believe that there is a healthy and growing market for low cost, on-demand warehouse management systems delivered via the Internet.

Bob Kennedy, 7Hills vice-president for business development, is quoted in the article, articulating the quality of the support and services that the company provides along with the eBizNET suite software. Customers are likely to be pleasantly surprised, said Kennedy, by such exceptional responsiveness to customer needs. Aberdeen Group research director Nari Viswanthan states that early response to hosted supply chain software has been positive; in fact, he says, companies using on-demand warehouse management systems claim that "It exceeded expectations in the cost of software, implementation time and cost of ownership."

The article emphasizes the attention that 7Hills pays to the business processes of its customers. This aspect of implementation is critically important for SMB companies that are engaging on-demand WMS software applications, in order to assure a smooth transition to the new system. 7Hills provides that, with an implementation process that focuses on a comprehensive review of the customer's business processes.Learn More
